What is an EICR and do I legally need one?
An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a formal assessment of the safety of your electrical installation. Since 2020, landlords in England are legally required to have an EICR carried out every 5 years and provide a copy to tenants.
How often should a landlord get an EICR in London?
London landlords must have a valid EICR every 5 years for all rental properties. New tenancies require a certificate before the tenancy begins. Failure to comply can result in fines of up to £30,000.
How long does an EICR take?
